The Service Delivery Division (SDD) provides direct mission support to various National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Line Office functions at the NOAA Environmental Security Computer Center (NESCC) in West Virginia. The Infrastructure & Operations Branch (I&OP) also orchestrates and operates the Division’s core IT infrastructure to include servers, storage, networking, telecommunications to deliver mission support services to Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) customers.

Through the NOAA OCIO SDD Infrastructure and Operations Branch SharePoint Services contract, IBSS’ SharePoint (SP) subject matter expert will analyze organizational business processes to assess its integration with technology, maintain SP application servers and Workflow Manager, and backup/restore SP portals, site collections, sites, lists, and libraries. 

Moreover, we will implement enterprise system migration of a Line/Staff Office SP site from its current environment to the NOAA environment as demonstrated by our SP Administrator at the NOAA Office of Habitat (OHC). In fact, this procurement was obtained through Sole Source due to this accomplishment.  We resolved an NOAA enterprise-wide issue of an unstable SharePoint (SP) environment, which impeded users from creating travel requests, award certifications, performance plans, and budget planning plans.

Our SP Administrator stabilized redesigned, re-architectured, and patched the entire SP environment by creating a mirror image of the SharePoint Farm to maintain site functionality. We also addressed security vulnerabilities by fixing expired web SSL certificates and implemented network monitoring using SolarWinds to alert admins of errors our outages. 

This amazing feat aligns well with SDD’s mission in also ensuring continuous performance improvement in delivering services to customers and meet program/contract management goals.
