Highlights of 2023:

  • IBSS passed stringent requirements and became a Certified B Corporation – using business as a force for good.
  • Giving back to the community
    • We provided holiday gifts for 25 families in the metropolitan DC area.
    • We have participated in Project GiveBack for the past 7 years – packing and distributing Thanksgiving food baskets. This year, we distributed 200 food baskets in the metropolitan DC area.
    • We collected more than $1,000 of toiletries and donated them to a center in the Northeast U.S.
    • We collected and passed out 66 packages consisting of warm blankets along with hats, scarves, and mittens to the homeless in the metropolitan DC area.
  • Employee recognition
    • One of our amazing employees earned the prestigious title of 2023 NOAA Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Team Member of the Year!
    • Another amazing employee was recognized by the NOAA Deputy Director for Operations of Cyber Security Division for helping to mitigate a cyber attack across NOAA.
    • Many other employees were recognized across NOAA line offices for their outstanding achievements.
    • Six graduates from our Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program are working as SOC analysts at DoDEA.
  • Contract expansions, certifications, and partnerships
    • We continued to expand our business across many line offices at NOAA.
    • IBSS won the 10-year ProTech Satellite IDIQ and is one of four women-owned small businesses who can compete for NOAA satellite programs. Under this IDIQ, IBSS’ first award is to support the Office of Space Commerce.
    • We were assessed and granted CMMI DEV/ML3, which verifies our credential in software and systems development.
    • The NTIA account has grown over 300% since 2022, with IBSS being in the Top 10 list of vendor spend in IT at NTIA. NTIA covers several capability areas and is becoming a primary source for IT/Cyber past performance.
    • The NMFS HMS EM project under ProTech Fisheries completed a Line Office Authority To Operate (ATO) for the NEFSC with respect to the Tator Software Platform. IBSS can potentially leverage this to other Fisheries such as West Coast, Pacific, and Alaska
    • IBSS satisfied the difficult requirements to become a Bronze Partner for the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
    • IBSS became an AFFIRM Sustaining Partner.
  • IBSS launched a new sister company, Total Assure, that provides custom-configured, comprehensive and cybersecurity solutions for commercial small- and medium-sized businesses.
