IBSS, a leading government contractor providing services for environmental science and engineering (including oceans, coasts, climate, weather, and satellite); cybersecurity and enterprise information technology; and professional management services; was awarded the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s IDIQ for the ProTech Satellite domain.
The ProTech Satellite domain enables the support for the acquisition, deployment, and ground system development/monitoring of satellites essential for forecasting the weather, analyzing environmental and climate phenomena, and monitoring hazards worldwide.
Under this vehicle, IBSS will:
- Provide timely access to global environmental data from satellites and other sources to promote, protect, and enhance the Nation’s economy, security, environment, and quality of life.
- Design, analyze, develop, acquire, or manage operational environmental satellites, their payloads, and supporting ground systems.
- Provide data and information services, including space weather and Earth system monitoring.
- Perform data and information product stewardship and preservation.
- Develop and produce information products, applications, tools, and models derived from observed data.
- Perform official assessments of the space or Earth’s environment and conduct related applied research.
- Forecast and model the weather/oceans/cryosphere, analyze environmental/climate phenomena, and monitor hazards worldwide.
