Trusted NOAA Partner of 18 Years Will Aid NOAA Fisheries in Becoming the Environmental Intelligence Capability of Our Nation
“ProTech” is now the mandatory contracting vehicle for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Professional and Technical Services. It includes a suite of services consisting of Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) multiple award contracts and BPAs across five Domains: Satellite, Ocean, Fisheries, Weather, and Enterprise Operations with a ceiling dollar amount for all orders of $3,000,000,000.
IBSS is one of the industrial base partners granted this award for the ProTech Fisheries Domain on September 21, 2018. For 18 years, IBSS has provided NOAA Fisheries (NMFS) with innovative technical, scientific, and professional services through over 25 contracts. Our work spans multiple NOAA regions and centers. NOAA has recognized our employee’s excellence through over 60 awards. To further advance NOAA’s mission, we formed Team IBSS, a consortium of acclaimed fisheries experts, ready to provide solutions to future fisheries challenges with over a combined 118 years’ experience at NOAA Fisheries.
Team IBSS will contribute to NOAA’s mission using cost-effective “nextgen” technologies with real-time, high-quality data to help manage sustainable fish populations, protected species, and habitats through four service areas:
- Studies, Analyses, and Reports
- Applied Research, Engineering, and Operations
- Field Sampling, Data Collection, and Surveys
- Program and Project Management
Also aiding this effort is Dr. Laurie Allen, Director of Science Programs at IBSS. As the former Director of Office of Protected Resources (OPR), her successful leadership is exemplified by many programs and projects she led towards sustainable natural resources and communities. Her 15-year career in NOAA and additional experience at other private and public organizations will be a tremendous asset in providing value to NOAA Fisheries.
Under the Fisheries Domain, Team IBSS will support NMFS in reaching its mission objectives including productive and sustainable fisheries, safe seafood sources, conservation and recovery of protected resources, and healthy ecosystems for all of us. We add value by delivering resources to strengthen science, develop innovative management approaches, and support effective enforcement efforts.
