Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the winter holiday season bring out a giving spirit at IBSS.

With so many families having been impacted by the pandemic, IBSS has deepened its support to the community as we’ve headed into the winter holiday season.

One organization that we assisted is The Colesville Council of Community Congregations (C-4), which is an interfaith group united in providing material assistance to Montgomery County families in need. One of the programs that C-4 hosts annually is the Holiday Toy Closet, which creates a pop-up “shop” where parents can select a book, a filled stocking, two toys, and a stuffed animal for each of their children. Approximately 1,000 children ages 1-12 in Montgomery County, MD are able to have a brighter Christmas because of this program.

When asked why she recommended that IBSS support C-4, Carmen Jenkins, our Vice President of Business Development, had this to say: “C-4 has such a great mission to serve our neighbors in need in a way that preserves their dignity. Because it is totally volunteer-run, all of our donations go directly to those families in need. During these trying times, I love to see the IBSS team find ways to share our good fortune with our community in a very direct way and provide some joy to others this holiday season.”

IBSS and our employees donated toys, stuffed animals, and other items for the C-4 Holiday Toy Closet. Many of these children have experienced poverty for a while and others have had their lives changed due to the pandemic, so we wanted to shine a light into the lives of these children. While these children are not part of the IBSS family, we want to treat them with the same love, dignity, and respect that we would show our own children.

We are grateful to our work family members who donated toys so that children could have a merry holiday. As a company, we are proud to support C-4’s efforts to serve the diverse needs of our community.
