Our company has always valued education, and we know that it can be difficult for students to learn if they don’t have the supplies they need to be successful.

Every year IBSS encourages employees to donate supplies to local schools. In the past, the initiative was conducted solely at our headquarters. Last year, staff at our headquarters office and Northeast satellite offices donated supplies. This year, the Northeast satellite office pitched in again and we were pleased that our Georgia satellite office stepped up to the challenge to support underprivileged students returning back to school in September.

Georgia Satellite Office

Our employees at the Georgia satellite office also collected supplies and donated them to Ruth Hill Elementary.

They collected 16 notebooks, 40 markers, 120 glue sticks, 256 crayons, and 440 pencils. IBSS also donated $250 to the school to use to purchase additional supplies.

While we only have a handful of employees in this area, we are grateful to see them support Ruth HIll. Their generosity helps students have the resources they need to succeed and learn.

Massachusetts Satellite Office

Several hundred dollars worth of supplies were purchased for students attending Teaticket Elementary School, graciously donated by our employees in the Massachusetts satellite office. Adjustment Counselor, Helene Goetz, informed Northeast Fisheries Program Manager, Lacey Bluemel, that water bottles, glue sticks, and scissors were especially needed this year for students whose families were struggling to obtain the needed back-to-school items.

In total 30 water bottles, 2 boxes of erasers, 2 boxes of pencils, 1 box of markers, 12 boxes of crayons, 12 notebooks, 12 boxes of colored pencils, 300 glue sticks, and 40 pairs of scissors were donated by awesome IBSS Northeast Employees Heather Soulen, Gail Wynne, Sarah Shea, Chris Dixson, Joan Palmer, Janne Haugen, Lauren Kirkpatrick, Alison Brodet, Daniele O’Toole, John Long, and Lacey Bluemel! Way to go, Team!

Additionally, IBSS donated $250 to the school to be used to purchase headphones for students who need them.

We are grateful to all of our employees who went out of their way to help students. We look forward to seeing how many of our satellite locations will participate next year.
