IBSS assists the NMFS FOIA lead in intake, scope perfection, assignment, tracking, and closure of NMFS FOIAs, recommends draft FOIA policies and procedures, develops NMFS-wide compliance procedures with FOIA regulations, reviewing FOIA requests for completion, and monitor NMFS FOIAs to alert government leads prior to the arising of backlog situations.
